JUNIOR HIGH YOUTH GROUP
TENTATIVE SCHEDULE FOR SEP 2008 – AUG 2009
PLEASE CHECK YOUR E-MAIL AND CHURCH MAILBOX OFTEN FOR PAPERS--THE EVENT RESPONSE FORMS HAVE ALL THE DETAILS FOR EACH EVENT. PLEASE RETURN THE FORM WHETHER OR NOT YOU CAN ATTEND!!! THE CHURCH’S NEW POLICY CLEARLY STATES THAT NO YOUTH MAY ATTEND AN EVENT WITHOUT A SIGNED FORM. YOU MUST TURN IN THE FORM IF YOU WANT TO ATTEND!!!
Sunday, September 21 Kick-off event – had a great time at Blue Rocks!!
Sunday, October 26 6 p.m. hayride - dress warm (maybe even bring a blanket) for this 1/2 hr hayride - bring snacks to share with everyone – then enjoy the Haunted Rooms
Saturday, November 1 Horseback riding and picnic lunch
Sunday, November 9 Please support the congregation's basket bingo party!!
Sun, Nov 9, 16, 23 Everyone is invited to take tags from the Giving Tree
Sunday, November 30 Deadline for gifts to be brought in and placed by the tree
Sunday, December 7 Have lunch, shop for families in need, have a Christmas party with a gift exchange game
Sunday, December 14 Birthday Party for Jesus--sign up for covered dish food item to share
Sunday, December 14 Undecorate the Christmas decorations in the church then go ice skating – youth group provides a ˝ hour private lesson for everyone who’s interested
Fri, Feb 13-Sun, Feb 15 Youth Quake
Fri-Sat, Feb 20-21 Go to Jenny's Country Manor to play bingo with residents, sleepover at church, make crafts for shut-ins, begin work on Youth Sunday, snow tubing
March or April TBA Bell rehearsal for Youth Sunday April 26
Friday, March 13 Join youth group at Shepherd of Hills Lutheran Church in Whitehall for game night at their church then we go bowling – Senior High joins us for this event
Sunday, April 5 Easter basket service project – make candy at Waldrons, work on Youth Sunday, free time stuff (ping pong, video games, foosball, rock band)
Saturday, April 11 Go to diner for breakfast then load baskets so they are ready for delivery by Senior High – 5th & 6th graders attend the egg hunt with SCS class
Saturday, April 25 Rehearsal for Youth Sunday
Sunday, April 26 Youth Sunday and host fellowship
Fri-Sat, May 1-2 Rock-a-thon for World Hunger – collect pledges for World Hunger and then stay up all night in a rocking chair watching movies, playing video games, playing board games, playing rock band, and learning about World Hunger
Sunday, May 10 Distribute gifts to women in the congregation for Mother’s Day
Sat-Sun, June 6-7 We encourage everyone to sign up as a family to help at the Church picnic!!
Tuesday, June 30 Day trip to Knoebels for amusement park and swimming fun
Fri-Sun, July 10-12 Weekend retreat at Robin Hill Campground (stay in huge building, enjoy paddle boats, swimming pool, game room, campfire with s’mores, make crafts for shut-ins – on Saturday we’ll do fun activities at Dutch Springs like their aqua park, sky challenge, and low ropes course – the entire weekend will be based on a theme including our own Worship Service)
Monday, August 3 Go to drive-in - plan to stay for both movies - go back to church to sleep
Tuesday, August 4 Breakfast at church - head over to Northern Lehigh Food Bank for service project (we'll unload a truck full of food and supplies) - youth group will treat you to lunch for helping with this project.--
All youth who attend will be asked to bring one box of his/her favorite cereal to donate at the food bank - children who are clients of the food bank will be able to pick from your favorites!!Sunday, August 9 Go to Jenny’s to play bingo with the residents then go to an Iron Pigs baseball game
