A Message from Pastor Ray

JANUARY 2012

Dear Christian Friends,

Turning the page of a calendar is a simple task, one we may usually do without a whole lot of thought. Yet, each time we do that, we mark the passing of an entire month, or in this case, an entire year. Now that we have moved into 2012, we reflect on what has been, and of course, what will be. As I grow older, I am reminded of what I was told when I was a child, that the older you get, the faster time seems to pass. When I was young, I didn’t believe it at all. Yet, it occurs to me today that, if ever there was a truthful statement, that is it. Each new year seems to move at lightning speed.

However, that is hardly a cause for despair. We can look back with thanksgiving, and look ahead in trust and hope, precisely because we are the Lord’s. Our God goes with us into each new day and year, to uphold and bless and encourage us. We find strength and forgiveness and abundant life because of God’s presence among us.

In 2012, as always, I give thanks for your faithfulness and support, as well as your looking to the Lord for all that he provides for our living. We are blessed with so much because of the grace of God at work in us daily. In this new year, may we resolve to bring blessings to others, sharing with them the light that guides and sustains us always.
